It’s all about the milk: whole milk or raw milk
Our doctor says 2%, no whole milk or raw milk; and don't get me started on all the other advice that is out there. I went online to research what would be best for our daughter, but I can't be the only one that stumbled upon massive amounts of information around this topic.
After everything I read, raw milk seems to be what I keep going back to and luckily for us we have a farm nearby that sells some. Below I will share some of the information I found about Raw milk and why it is awesome!
Raw milk is full of nutrients because it is not pasteurized. The pasteurization process kills a lot of the nutrients that make milk beneficial. It is full of Vitamins such as Vitamins D, A and K2. It also contains Calcium, Potassium and Magnesium, and many other things that are good for all of us. Over the years it has gotten a bad rap due to the risk of consuming bad bacteria when it isn't pasteurized. We have had raw milk on and off for the past year and so far, we have not experienced any issues. That also seems to be the experience for many out there since it appears that the risk is really, really low.
At the end of the day, only you know what is best for your child and I encourage all parents to do their own research about this topic. This post only shares my opinion.
