Positive Reinforcement

For a while we looked for a positive behavior reinforcer, also known as a reward system. We looked into charts and many other things but we stumbled upon a star chart. You earn a star each time you do something good. Once you earn 5 stars, you get a surprise. She got the blocks on the picture on the left as one of the surprises.
There is a couple of ways to earn a star. When she has a good day that she is listening and not whining or giving attitude, we give her one; if she cleans up all her toys or helps with a chore... things like that. One of the parents I spoke to about this, started using it for their morning routine and said it was helped a ton.

I started out by taking her out to get a surprise after she earned her 5 stars. But we changed it to the opposite, we get her "surprise" beforehand and use it as a visual reminder or incentive.
I got the chart we use on Amazon.com and I have attached a picture below to give you guys an idea of what it looks like. We have found great success with this when it comes to reinforcing good behavior and thought I would share! Thanks for visiting!
