Kindergarten: what to ask
OMG I cannot believe my little one is starting Kindergarten this year!! Now I know its not until September and yes I know its only February. But today we are going to an info session about her starting Kindergarten... so moms out there that know exactly how I am feeling, join me in an "aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!" Oh why do the grow up so fast!
Right now I am thinking about all the questions I want to ask and I am drawing a complete blank! I have 20 minutes to come up with some. I am doing some research online and here are some of the questions that come up in case you were wondering or/and in a similar position.
-What is the school's mission or philosophy?
-What is the approach to student discipline and safety?
-How is technology used to support the learning environment?
-How much homework do the students get?
-Is bullying a problem at the school?
-what extracurricular activities are available for the students?
These are only some of the many questions I stumbled upon during my research. I encourage you to do your own research and make sure you get a feel for the school. Do any of you guys have any advice?
I am feeling so many emotions... excitement, sadness, happiness. Its another milestone for my little one and I want to take it all in. Im so glad I will be able to drop her off and pick her up when the time comes! And join her for field trips and school activities. Reassures me even more of the decision I made to walk away from my career. This year is going to be big! :)
